# Welcome to Sectoral

## Welcome to Sectoral

**Private money for people, and for the software acting on their behalf. You keep custody, Robinhood Chain does the settling, and the amounts are known only to the two sides of each payment.**

***

Today, money mostly travels in one of two ways, and both come with a catch. Banks hide your ledger from the public while exposing it fully to themselves, their processors, and anyone they choose to sell your spending patterns to. Public blockchains flip that arrangement: everything can be audited, nothing is discreet, and anyone with an RPC endpoint can read your payroll.

Sectoral declines to pick a side. Each payment settles on Robinhood Chain, so the network can verify it took place, yet the numbers stay encrypted from end to end. You can see who the parties are. You cannot see the sums. The key that reveals your own figures stays on the device you are holding.

One account serves the freelancer receiving USDG mid-afternoon on a Tuesday just as well as the research agent spending eleven cents on an inference call at 4am. Here, software gets a genuine wallet, constrained by limits its owner sets, and its activity shows up in the same feed as everything else.

### How it compares

### What it runs on

Sectoral ships its own confidential token contracts on Robinhood Chain, the AI-native Ethereum Layer 2 run by Robinhood. Balances inside those contracts are stored as ciphertext, and every transfer must come with a zero-knowledge proof, while the addresses taking part remain publicly visible. Pair that with 100ms blocks and rollup-level costs and you get something no earlier chain fully delivered: payments that are private, instant, self-custodied, and cheap enough for everyday use.

Accounts are denominated in USDG, the Global Dollar from Paxos, issued natively on the chain, and bridged USDC is accepted too. A small ETH reserve is refilled automatically behind the scenes to cover gas, and after that you never need to think about gas again.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.sectoral.xyz/getting-started/readme.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
